Hi guys, was trawling around tesco today and in the clearance section was a heap of home brew stuff, all that seemed wrong was tatty labels but dates are good for another 12 months so i got some kit.

Two cans of Youngs brew buddy bitter extract, two youngs definitive 6 bottle cab sav kits and two cans of red wine enricher all for £14. Looking at the was prices I have saved £38, woohoo.

Thing is though, I've not tried wine yet, only a couple of beer extract kits from cans. I have demi-johns and all the bits needed and seem fairly confident in what I'm doing except I don't know when is best to add the enricher. Is it at the start or once water topped up etc.

Grape Juice Concentrate (abbreviated to GJC, or RGC / WGC for Red / White Grape Concentrate), also sold as “wine enricher” in outlets which don't specialise in homebrew and for people who wouldn't know what GJC was, is fairly high in sugar and would usually go into the mix right from the start.

You could add it when topping up but the maths gets complicated when trying to work out gravity changes. It's also quite likely that your yeasties will start partying again when presented with a fresh load of fruit sugars and spray stuff out through the airlock if you've now filled the DJ.
