Took a sample of the wheat beer I brewed 9 days ago.
It's still in the FV.

Taste not so bad but man alive THE SMELL!!

Not good at all - like bad feet.

I've screwed it up huh?

Usually sweaty socks is associated with isovaleric acid. Its normally old degraded hops that gets the blame for this but can also be caused by a wild yeast infection (brett). It could well be Brett if the beer is still tasting okay.

Ahhh very interesting! Beer does taste pretty good but the smell is offputting.
I'm pretty sure the hops were okay so that would point the finger at a wild yeast infection.
I'm pretty scrupulous on the sanitation - are wheat beers more prone to infection maybe??
