What's your fave beer glass shape?

I’ve read , it goes back to the days of horse and carriage, no table for glass so a holder was incorporated. Kwak is one of my favourites anyway and I always use my glass in a holder.

I got the pint Leffe glass in Ostend ,went on a coach trip with a free bar at the hotel. Leffe or Stella on draught! It got messy.
Vulcan pint glass just has a great feel to it.

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I have to raise a pedantic objection... The word "Stein" in German, means stone. It has been incorrectly applied to ceramic beer drinking vessels for some time, possibly emanating originally from the Oktoberfest many decades ago, but should never be used to describe non-ceramic ones. What you have is a collection of Krüge or Bierkrüge (plural of Krug). Although they're usually called Biergläser (sing. Bierglas) everywhere except tourist shops.

Sadly we have a very similar situation at home too, I'm with @pms67 for liking tulip beer glasses but I've only one left at the moment. They remind me of trips away to Europe and sunny afternoons... all the more poignant for the situation we're in not being able to travel.

It's mentioned already a couple of times - I love my Kwak glass. As above, the shape is apparently to fit into the lampholders on a stagecoach - don't know if that's true - do know that it's cool!

I usually favour a conical glass, but often resort to an imperial, if the conicals are all in the dishwasher.

Now not the best, but very practical, I have a Bulmers cider oversized pint glass which I guess is to account for ice you get with cider. It is the perfect size to pour a whole Cooper's PET bottle which is about 700mm or something like that.

Is there any virtual shop where 1-2 pair of dimpled beer mugs could be (affordably) acquired? My beloved purchased two of Amazon for my b day and was ticked because they were only American (16oz) pints. Even though the Amazon seller explicitly said "20oz with etched crown mark".

Although they are places here (in the US) that serve 20oz glasses, they're not easy too find. And they're apparently a lot more protective of their stock.

I was just curious if there were brewers' suppliers on the web that had them.

I got two off eBay here in the UK. I don't know what 20 Oz translates to but a pint in my little world is 568ml (I think anyway) and they're definitely that. Think the two were a tenner (£10)

BTW:. A British pint is 20oz & an American point is 16oz. Because our powers-that-be decided in the 70s to not embrace metrics, I'm tied to the screwy system. (My previous 20+yr profession was computer engineering, so I truly appreciate metric-like databases.)

What's even crazier is the two systems use a different sized fl. oz.
The US one is pre 1800 Queen Anne system based on wine density, the UK then changed their's to one based on 1/160th of a 10lb gallon of water. The US fl. oz. is thus 4% larger than the UK one, but only 16 of them in a pint versus 20.
