What's with the barrel avatars?

Hi All, just browsing through latest posts over the last few days there seem to be a lot of members with barrels for avatars.
Just for a chuckle, check out some of these, and this is just for new posts this week

Lots of new members adopting barrels, did I miss the memo?

I had guessed something like that may be happening.

I only thought today of changing mine......but thought it was a requirement to keep it until you have commented X amount of times.

I might just rotate the image by 90 degrees!

Hi All, just browsing through latest posts over the last few days there seem to be a lot of members with barrels for avatars.

The standard forum avatar (since we moved to the new forum version) is below its the first letter of the username and a random colour background, when the Covid flood gates opened and all the new members joined my OCD couldn't cope with all these different coloured avatars so i decided barrels would make a nice change and be a little more fitting, as there are so many members now joining (because of Covid) i only change the avatar if the new member posts a few times

No idea why! It's quite a fetching barrel picture, but it is interesting how we have all been allocated a slightly different barrel image!

Mine is emptying them.

@BrucetheFish Would that they represented the successful batches of beer I've brewed but sadly not - yet!
