Is this possible? The penny dropped on why my lager wasn't quite as clear as I'm used to..... I used honey.

I boiled the honey & DME in 10L of water and added my hops in stages over an hour. I read somewhere that if you don't get the timing right with the honey that you can end up with a haze, which is exactly how I would describe my beer at the moment. It's not a BIG issue as it's the taste that matters but I'd like to know if there is anything I can do to improve it in the future.

Oh, I've also noticed that my beer is a fair bit darker than I expected... considering I used extra light DME. Would this be down to the honey as well?

Thanks

At the honey at the end not during the boil. also you will have caramelised some of it for sure boiling it so yes it'll be darker than it started out.

Sounds more like it. Yeah that sounds exactly like what's happened.

I think next time I'll add the honey as soon as I've removed the hops. The temp will still be upwards of 90 then anyway so should be fine to take care of the honey.

Cheers
