as mentioned in a previous post my first attempt at extract was a failure due to my own stupidity with sterilising

but i will not give up just yet as my brew pot has 2 more boils before i can completely throw in the towel an stick to kits

i am wondering what to do next as i am rather clueless what type of ales there are out there in extract form my retailer in norwich asked me what i liked but i was rather overwhelmed by his shop an having never stood in such an alcholic wonderland

im not sure what grains i had last time think chocolate was one but i think there was two others or what hops the ingredients did not verify what the contents were they the grain pack was simply described as porter.

of course i can get the same stuff again but i like experimenting with something new every batch.

what is the difference between spray malt and malt extract cans?
where draws the line between malt extract and all grain?
whats the order of light to dark/stout beers?

nice one :D

I restarted brewing after tasting some coopers kits which appear to be popular, aussie lager, euro lager, and australian ipa
i brewed the coopers aussie lager with dextrose and norm sugar to prime and after 5 weeks in grolsch bottles it is as good as what you could buy in a pub, i am impressed.
I am now making a 2 part kit from tesco that has had very good reports a woodfords wherry best bitter it said 4-6 days to ferment but i read it could take more to get to 1010 its still bubbling after 7 days.
wilkinsons and tesco stock gear if like me you have not got a brew shop nearby
