Ok, it's an old pic for now. My wife informs me that the snails are hibernating at the moment, and she won't wake them up until she can get them something to eat (their fave is fresh sweet potato...). Basically if they get a bit dry they dig into their soil, seal their shell up with hard mucous, and go to sleep for a while... My wife favours a benign neglect approach to keeping them, as when she tried a more hands on approach they kept dropping dead. Me, I find them a bit boring. :lol:

You sure you wouldn't like to see something more exciting? Some of my shrimp, spiders, snakes... Anything other than brown snails.... :lol:

She's a Grammostola pulchra bud, and is our fave. Such a gorgeous black, and probably the most docile one we own. Just as well given how big she is, and how long her fangs are. :lol: The only thing I'd warn about with any of the Grammostola is that it can be a bit scary when they go off their food for 12 months and upwards.. They come from an environment where food can become very scarce, so they go on hunger strike every now and then and reduce their metabolic rate right down. You just have to make sure they regularly have water available to drink whilst they do it.

I have one 3 legged Yorkshire terrier, one staff/lab cross and 17 Guinea pigs......yes 17. They all live outside in converted hutches. My wife volunteers at a rescue centre

10 hens and a cockerel. Only had all of the about 4 week but have to say love having fresh eggs for Sunday breakfast.

There are also a couple of fish left in the tank, but given the kids have stopped giving a monkeys about them when there're gone there ain't going to be any more.
