Just came across this story that the Family of Bradley Lowery why is terminaly ill have asked people to stop posting RIP notices on social media.
Whilst I do not support terrorism, IS, the IRA I can understand that these may driven by an underlying cause or objective however misguided.

I cannot at all fathom why anyone would want to post false rumours about the death of such a brave young lad. They should be found and jailed for causing distress.
More reason to dislike Social media and it's acolytes who worship it!

The line from the article (below) says it all "Trolls" unfortunately the world if full of people who have too much time on their hands and too few brain cells to put that time to constructive use so they spend their time looking to cause as much distress as they can, in the days before "social media" (oh how i hate those two words when put together) forums and chat rooms were where these idiots used to congregate, i used to moderate a football forum and i spent more time banning and warning these idiots than posting, they are the scum of the earth.

Trolls understood to have shared the fake news that Bradley has passed away

F'ing priceless, a Daily Mail article about Trolls.

'Can we ask people who have shared RIP Bradley to take it down, this is clearly been started by a troll, and he is very much alive and kicking, when/if anything was to happen, you will here it here first.

This quote from the poor lads family, clearly states 'a troll' and probably is asking genuine well-wishers to remove their messages until the family themselves have something to announce, and the DM twisted it into this...

Trolls understood to have shared the fake news that Bradley has passed away

...branding anyone responding as a troll regardless of their intentions. Shameful sensationalism to sell their rubbish paper.

Erm.....the OED definition of social media is: Websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. But, going on a website to share a news item doesn't fit this definition, right?
