What has happened to TV adverts

Years ago we had TV adverts like

Happiness is a cigar called Hamlet

Harp look on the sharp side

Now its Tampons and more Tampons

What was your favourite or most annoying TV adverts?

I liked the Panama Cigar advert from the early 70's where the guy had super wide Carlos Fandango wheels fitted to a Ford Anglia, and they came off when he went though a farm gate. Even now (40 years later) if I see a car with extra wide wheels I'll comment to the wife ...he's got Carlos Fandango wheels.

I did see one the other day that i found amusing but that was only because i was in the room with the TV while Mrs Tea had it on (normally avoid the room like the plague) soaps
