Years ago we had TV adverts like

Happiness is a cigar called Hamlet

Harp look on the sharp side

Now its Tampons and more Tampons

What was your favourite or most annoying TV adverts?

I liked the Panama Cigar advert from the early 70's where the guy had super wide Carlos Fandango wheels fitted to a Ford Anglia, and they came off when he went though a farm gate. Even now (40 years later) if I see a car with extra wide wheels I'll comment to the wife ...he's got Carlos Fandango wheels.

My most irritating was the yellow pages ad, Fly fishing by JR Hartley

shhhh... just thinking it must not be near xmas yet no daft grouse adverts

Love these fellas.

that has to be the classic harp add....

I record everything not on the BBC so can skip ads, i hate the fecking things.

I did see one the other day that i found amusing but that was only because i was in the room with the TV while Mrs Tea had it on (normally avoid the room like the plague) soaps

PG tips chimps, 'it's the taste' are surely the all time classics, til the PC brigade came along. Particularly the piano one.

Dad do you know the piano's on my foot?

No son, but you if you hum it, I'll play it.

I hate any ad where the voice-over is done by a girl who sounds like she is wrinkling her nose - 'I'm so cute'.

Yak.

I liked the honda advert where a choir did all the sound affects.

Blast from the past - the Cresta advert "Its frothy man".
