Bit of a problem brewday today.
Far from impressed with the new Gen 3 fermenter and 2L short on volume 😢

Plus I had to change the recipe last minute - wanted to showcase Medusa hops but when I opened them they had an odd herbal/garlicky character that I didn't care for.

I did manage to use up every last grain in stock though 😁

15 litres of foxbat's house bitter. Target volume achieved, looks and smells good, just got the tantalising wait till tomorrow to check the FG. :D

I do think liquid yeast is a bit posh for a house bitter, though! ;)

Busy brew day today, packaged a Woodforde's admirals reserve and a stovetop simcoe SMaSH. Then brewed a Festival Belgian Pale kit and a stovetop 80 Shillings following GH recipe, but using MJ15 yeast.
Used my new shiney bit of Easter kit for the stovetop brew and it was a God send!

Interesting colour from the carared!

Its not quite as dark as it looks but the carared was a last minute addition... wasn't in the original recipe but was the only thing left in my grain stash after taking all the other grains out, so I thought I'd chuck them in 😂

Second try at hard seltzer using skittles as a flavouring.
perfect for a warm spring evening, which I’m sure is just a couple of weeks away.

Not brewed anything for a few weeks. Last night I broke my "don't brew whilst under the influence of alcohol" rule 🙄
And got a Cooper's Canadian blonde on the go.
All went well except I'd fitted the lid and instead of removing it again to fit the airlock, I ended up pushing the grommet into the brew 😱☹️
Oh well, probably ruined now. Du'oh. 🤦

Don’t worry too much, I’ve had a grommet fall in before when pushing the air lock in! I’m sure as long as it was clean it will be fine

The bottom of the grommet was sanitised swishing the bucket with lid on but the top wasn't 😁
Two chances cheers 👍

Brewed a Coopers Pale ale kit, boiled a kilo of dried malt and added 20g of mosiac galaxy and citra at 7 mins and 1 minute. Will dry hop with the same, nice inoffensive brew that seems to go down well these parts

American Amber rebrew. After the sage advice of @Clint all flavour hop additions sifted to the hop steep. Also switched the chinook for Amarillo. Swig from trial jar very promising, strong toasty malt backbone, more style appropriate bitterness and the burnt orange Amarillo notes a better complement for the malt.

The only thing sage about me is my top end fly rod!

It was actually yesterday for me, I did a 55ltr boil using spraymalt, ( got a bit fed up with all the mess using grain ) and it's easier to work out gravity's, anyway, I used 7.680kg of extra light spraymalt, gave me an og of 1.049, did a 30 minute boil with 20gms of Ammarillo and 20gms of Nelson Sauvin, cooled to 80c then whirlpooled and hopstand of 100gms Amarillo, 50gms Olicana, and 50gms Nelson Sauvin, I always then put around 26ltrs in each fv x 2, so now the quandary of what to dry hop with, I usually do 2 different things but if I decide to do an old favourite I'll probably do them both the same, but I've got a couple of weeks to ponder on that 😉

Following my promising, but small, first batch of Fisherman's Stout of this parish, 15 litres more, now cooling. :D
