Right. So im going to start brewing but iver never really tried bitter. I usually drink cider or larger. Was just wondering what a good first bitter would be to try.
I certainly wouldn't attempt to have a first try at bitter with a homebrew can kit (assuming thats what your using as a new starter) as it won't give you an accurate representation of either what bitter should taste like and thereby what to aim for if you are brewing one. Get to a supermarket and buy some bitters to try and get a feel for it - or better yet, a pub .
I would either hold off until you know roughly what your after, or brew a drink you are used to like cider or lager.
If you usually drink lager I would recommend the Coopers Australian pale ale. I normally drink lager and I found this a good mid point from lager to bitter.
