After a great bbq with family and a few friends, time for a relaxing pint, was on raspberry vodka with ice and lemonade

Another catch up.
My Camden, in the late day's Sun.
So well needed after a day refitting a dropping window on our K11 Micra.
A pita job.

Then for dinner farm shop butcher's beef and this, a serious Romanian Pinot Noir from Waitrose.

It was a beautiful day overall, despite the Araldite episode in the middle.

A west coast dark lager whilst watering the garden View attachment 100233
Run that past me again.....
Watering the garden!?
Remind me again where you are,
Timbuktu?
Surely the water table is only at grass root level throughout the entire British Isles.
Or is it a case of, "I'm just getting another glass of lager, luv.
This garden watering is such dehydrating hot work in today's sunshine." ☀️🌴😎🚿😉🍺

Was the Challenger added at different stages, or only for the full boil bittering as I do?
If you do, what does it give that you like?
I ask as I have quite a fair amount of it in stock.
Just for the full boil, I have made this bitter now with Challenger and Northern Brewer both as the primary bittering hop at 60 minutes.
As the ABV goes up I go for a higher AA count, Super Pride, Ella, and Target I then use the Alchemy Overlord for dosage (SMPH Model)

Many thanks for the details, I love that name 'Alchemy Overlord', I'll give that a look.
I have only used the Brewersfriend calculator so far, and then often only after the brew for the final IBU.
It's not completely random though!
I do know the ballpark that it will be, from the recipe.
Variation often occurs en-route.
As well as Challenger, I have a fair quantity of Northern Brewer available too, 'happen😉.

Pots, baskets, beds all need watering.
It's at least two pints of beer worth of work
