From lidl I suggest trying Green Gecko, Luminous nights and Patronus wheat beer from their own range. Also some main brand beers like Leffe blond, Proper job, Banks bitter and Salt casual pale are currently available.

I didn’t care for the Lidl porter but the trouble is you don’t know if it’s just a bad bottle when you try it once.
I will give some of those a go thanks. I have had Leffe quite some years ago but don't recall enjoying it, my pallet may have matured now though so it's worth another try.
This was thr first ever Porter for me so I have nothing to compare it to, but was rather nice to my taste, I will need to try some others for comparison.
I find lidls has a good own brand range, you get the impression they are trying hard to make decent clones rather than simply copies of labels.

Had one of those days where you just need a beer. Having Belfast Lager kindly sent by @Alastair70 which is going down a treat lovely and crisp but with just a slightly sweet finish to make you want more, perfect in the sunshine. It says just Saaz hops, if that is the case might have a go at a single hopped one as I have quite a few in the freezer.

Looks nice. My next brew is going to be a saaz and pilsner malt smash, just need to decide whether to go pseudo lager or saison! Maybe do a batch of both

1st and 2nd pour of a milkshake IPA from The Garden Brewery, Zagreb. Mosaic Spectrum and El Dorado hops. Not my usual go-to style, but its BBE date is 31.05.'23 so someone has to do it.
I wouldn't usually, but I'd just finished carving up some shelves from a

large piece of Contiboard, and cutting down a massive length of chipboard whilst I was at it.
Dusty work. No MDF was harmed in this procedure.
The' kit' above.
A rather meaty saw, but that's my Dad for you.
You should see his workshop sawbench.
These will be the supports. 2+5/8" square section.
The diffent lengths are for quart bottles on the lower shelf and pints on the upper.
All measurements Imperial.
🍻

I do like Lidl wheat beer. I tend to buy it when it's on sale. I brew my own too. Coopers comes out nice. I have tried others too, but not sure of brands as I've only just started my brewing diary.

No beer this evening.
It's day-off day.
But the beer shelving construction progresses,
Not finished, but a dry run gives an idea of how it's coming along and what it will look like.
Halves and pints will fit on the upper level below the ladder.
Edit: I've just measured and so will my 10L and 5L casks on the top level!
Result.

The bottles on that top shelf will be at risk from getting knocked over as you take the ladder down or put it up. 🫣

😁 That had crossed my mind - but it's going, as I've been banned by SWMBOd from using that ladder as it's so weighty, and I'm not quite the Hercules I once was. Oh the joys of ageing. 😢
