A Kwak for me first one since the Brussels beer festival in 2002

I commented elsewhere that my Directors kit tasted lovely but not quite like Directors. I still have one kit left. I put on a Muntons IPA and jus cracked one after a scant ten days in the bottle. My first thought? "That tastes like Directors"....Early days yet but I think it'll turn into a decent pint. I did a light secondary priming, 85g for a full 20L vs the recommended 100 because that's how I like it.

In other news my Festival Porter is turning into a really good beer. There will definitely be some Christmas cheer generated there. Though my previous present recipients will not receive their customary bottle as I have retired from the police. As I now work as a delivery diver for a well known catalogue based retailer, gifts of alcohol might send the wrong message [plus I don't know them well enough yet] so more for me!
 
Evening all, I’m enjoying one of 3 nights at home in a 2 week period. Checking out the BrewCon Hefeweisen. The head dissipated quite quickly so I’ve turned the gas up a bit to try to breath a bit of life into it. Taste profile is good, clove and banana well balanced, just what I was shooting for.

Makes sense. The original recipe is only 20g dry hop in a 19l batch..little sprinkle.
What's WB & Down?
I am not sure about the amount, I think they use HBlanc in the dry hop so it's could just be more potent.

After a rather miserable walk in the rain up from the station it seemed like time for a pint of Mild. Also feeling rather pleased this is the last pint in the keg with it kicking just as I filled the glass.

Overall being very pleased with this batch I will likely up the chocolate malt slightly and increasing the priming sugar a tad (was a Greg Hughes recipe) but a nice 3.5% session beer, and more importantly I have 20L of Bitter ready to tap shortly.
