Cheers, some nice beer on there!
Aye; Newark is about an hour South from here, but it happens to be on the way to a couple of projects I've been working on at work over the last year or two so I often pop in and pick up a few beers on the way home. Can't fault his selection or knowledge; there is tons of craft stuff, as well as real ale / traditional stuff, Belgian etc etc. Highly recommend it.

Looks like I'll be working on a big project in that there stinky London next year, so I'll be getting the train from Newark so I suspect me and the real ale store will continue to be great mates 😁

I've been to Newark once, by accident. I meant to drive to Mansfield. This wouldn't have been a problem except for the fact that I had 5 other members of the rugby team in the car. Follow the white Fiesta they said.....I wasn't flavour of the month.

A DIPA next. Hazy, bitter and dry hopped with Strata which is a new one on me. Very nice.

Several drinks down and all my Christmas dinner prep is done, except for another layer of glaze on the ham. Phew!

Time for my super special, extra strong Santa Claus beer. I've been aging this for over a year now and it is beautiful. View attachment 60073
what year was it? I had a 1 and a 4 year old and the 4 was sublime. no doubt I could have aged the 4 yr old beer some more but I caved in. :laugh8:

It was a 2019 vintage so only two years old. I'd not tried it before so I only got the one, next time I'll get a crate to age because it was beautiful.

Yesterday was really busy so I didn’t get any time for posting. We are at my youngest daughter’s today for Christmas dinner (first time ever we haven’t hosted). The thing is, my daughter and my wife decided who was doing what and it turns out my daughter is making the roast potatoes and we (me!) are doing everything else 🤷‍♂️ This is why I was busy all day yesterday. Next year, I’m doing the negotiating! ;)

Anyway, Merry Christmas folks, I hope you all have an amazing day. I started today with a few of these.
