Golf got rained off today so fancy an impromptu brew day! FV1 however is currently home to the chocolate stout I brewed on Wednesday, FV2 has the IPA I racked off from FV1 on Wednesday and FV3 is only good for storing bits and bobs and for cleaning ever since I melted the lid

A big outdoors guy so brewing has become my de facto "wet weather activity". If the sun is shining all weekend when I'm at work I'll be livid!!! Oh well, watch the snooker all afternoon it is then

I did my first brew with a towel over and it was fine, my dad only brewed with a towel over and never once had a spoiled brew

When I was a kid brewing I got a FV from my mate with no lid, so just used to use a bin liner, I think my beer was OK, but then again I had different priorities...

I've used cling film over buckets and DJ openings. I do two layers, with a couple of pin holes in each one to let gas escape but it's probably not necessary. DH's huge postie elastic bands are great for keeping the cling flim on, you could probably tape it on too.
