last year he was news editor on the uni newspaper,

this year he has been the main editor with 36 contributors to manage,

hes been really hard at work...and [partying to a lesser extent] :drunk:

he has just informed us that he has been shortlisted as a finalist for student journalist of the year...

their newspaper [forge press] is also in the shortlist for best student media of the year too...

Glad your sons doing well.

Good nightlife in Sheffield, I used to live there and partied a Lot, many a night spent in the Leadmill, may mate used to be the Entertainments Officer there so I saw loads of bands free, :D

West street was a good pub run, with a detour to the Frog and parrot, a few years ago mind you could still get a Pint of "Wards Kirby" then.

It's great when the kids get some recognition, it makes you think you must've done something right.

Totally agree Keith.

Even when my five year old daughter comes home from school and says she is 'on top of the rainbow' again :) .

Congrats to you and yours... my little guy is still way off anything like that (19 months) but looking forward to it all happening..

I went on a field trip to sheffield uin. Stayed in some halls of res for a week. Don't remeber much apart from going to the frog and parot, drinking some hideously strong ale then going iceskating before ending up in the leadmill. Don't remember getting back apart from walking up some massive hill with a kebab and seeing the crucible theatre.

Well done to your lad, determination is what you need to get on these days. Your lad seems to have bucket loads of it.
