Change the colour of the cross of St George and get free advertising all day from the BBC one of the most watched and listened to channels and stations on TV and radio a master stroke.

I'm glad the overuse of the cross of St George has died down over the last few years. I think it was probably 2015-2018 that it started to get really aggressively used by English nationalists... So much so that I've heard it referred to as the English swastika on more than a few occasions - probably excessively waved in relation to Brexit and there was probably a sportsball tournament on at the same time.

I'm glad it's died down and you don't see it draped from every crusty wheelie bin anymore
