The Wurzel's has been very popular with family and friends, so I've had to put another 2 gallons on this weekend. While in the supermarket I noticed some watermelon juice, loads of odd ingredients in it but I thought what the hell and grabbed 5 cartons.

It certainly looks interesting in the DJ. Probably make a nice rose, watermelons one of those odd wines that is fantastic if it goes right and god awful if it goes wrong, my money is on awful but I'm ever hopeful.

Heavy use of flash, so here's a picture for colour comparison, Left to right is Watermelon, Wurzel's and Blackcurrant.

Hi,

I see you have played it sensible with the fill level. Have you used red grape juice for the Watermelon?

Its 'pure' watermelon juice, no other fruits added.

Watermelon has such a delicate flavour that almost anything else has a tendancy to overpower it. I'm a little concerned using the juice as the fruit concentration is lower than I've previously attempted but juicing real watermelons is a pita. In order to get the best chance of success I'm using no water, all the liquid is juice.

It could end up as a very flat, one dimensional taste but I have options to blend it with. :hmm:

Aha, it's an appetising looking colour :thumb:

Yeah, I can understand your concern, that's the thing isn't it, bit of a challenge trying to capture the flavour and aroma of something so delicate. I would have opted for all juice too.

I think my "Multi-fruit" might just come out as "nondescript-fruit' :hmm:
(makes note melon juicing = pita)
