Finally The correct weekend is upon me, I'm packing my bags and heading up north for the weekend.
It's a landrover team challange, 3 vehicles 6 crew, From making rope bridges to areial fishing ( I'm normally the hook!)
The whole of sunday is a timed event, you have to navigate with a backwards map Ie the grid reference is not bottoms up it's up bottoms to make it harder. each section of navigation has a time allowance and each task has an allowance run over time in one you eat up time for the next part and so on. There's nine Teams and 9 tasks starting @ 9am finishing at 5 pm. Our team consists of 2 x seris 1 landrovers on leaf srpings and 1 Hybrid V8, where as most teams are flash defenders with huge winches front and rear, we Have 2 capstan winches mounted to the seris vehicles and 1 hydraulic winch.
I hope you all wish us luck as the Midland team will be winning this year. Out of 7 years doing it we have had 2 x 3rd's 4 x 2nds and 1 x 1st This is the 8th year of doing this, it's a great day out on the sunday shame none of you are anywhere near it to come and have a watch. We're Based out of Cartmel Race course. Which is a great setting to have bbq's and beer at night.

Now thats my type of weekend, got my own series 3 1/2 back on the road today, it had been off for 6 mths, the MOT only showed up a worn steering arm ball joint and a worn wiper blade, but had to wait 2hrs in tax office, all good again, I had not the time recently to sort it out but I said feck it, my time for a change. Have a great weekend MD and bring back some photos, I'm taking the missus and the two girls (dogs) to west cork for the weekend, and the Landy, I'll take a few snaps aswell.

Well :shock: What a mixed bag we had, Saturday was scorching hot and Sun burn, and Sunday (day of the Competition) was horizontal rain by the bucket load, Absolutly soaked through waterproofs etc.
We didn't have a good year this year not on top form, so we only managed another 3rd place.
I shall post some pics when I get them.

You had a better weekend than me MD,
Got with in 10 miles of destination for the weekend, friday afternoon, then the unmistakable sound of exhaust valves belting off the piston crowns, had an MOT the previous day, I must thank them for wrecking my 300Tdi, the belt had very little milage on it. It had slipped a tooth. Flippin Great :evil:
