I confess that I have one of these, have used it once and did the job nicely. Second outing for it is tomorrow.

You can make one yourself a lot, lot cheaper as has been said already. I didn't have the inclination, skills ('cos I'm ridiculously incompetent and have proved it on more than one occasion) or time so bought one ready made to do the job.

Jesh and has already been said HOW MUCH... Brupack ones are cheaper and better made, I say this pointing out picture No 2 where there is little to no insulation where the ball tap exits the side of the tun ..... need I say more.

To make one your looking at about an hour worth of time just take it slow and easy follow the instructions on the above linked sites and your away.

Wish we could get the round igloo cool boxes at a reasonable price here in the UK you could make THESE then

I shouldn't think that insulation around the tap hole would make much difference as the external tap and pipework would act as a radiator irrespective of the amount of insulation present at the container wall at that point.

To be honest, given my DIY skills and the fact that my fingers are more prone to act like toes when presented with any sort of tool, I'm inclined to buy a ready made one, but thank you for taking the time to answer.

Cheers

Paul
