I need to make a large volume of beef stock today from about 6kg of roasted beef bones.
My usual stock pot is not going to be big enough so I am wondering whether to use my 33L BIAB boil pot.

Any thoughts???

Hahaaa.
Got to make the stock this morning or I would!!

Worst case is my beer tastes of roast beef.
I personally can't see any problems with that. :D

with no disrespect to any one on the forum....some of the additions and experiments with beers that are going on. A roast Beef Ale sounds rather mild....
Just need a pint and a few pickled onions some bread...instant ploughmans lunch

We're getting back into cock ale territory guys...

You'll be fine - I've used FV's for transporting tropical fish with no ill effects to either fish or beer. :thumb:

That's what steriliser is for!

I wouldn't have thought it be a problem as it is stainless steel just give it a good clean and leave it to soak with oxy that will shift anything.

How many gallons of gravy are you making? :hmm: :hmm:

I'm making 5-6L of beef stock but it starts off with about 15L of water plus 5kg of roasted beef bones.

No problems. A few years ago I was on xmas lunch duty, and had a large ham to cook/boil. Now nothing I had was big enough so I used my boiler, no problems and no after tastes either.

As long as no cows are harmed in the making of the beer...

...and by the sounds of it, its a bit too late for that to happen!
