hi all
my pump gave up yesterday mid brew :x :x
looking at my supplier 2 pumps look good to me
a bronze bodied, flexible impeller design self priming 30L/ min output at 3m (10ft) total head
or
Steel-bodied, smooth running, self-priming pressure-controlled water pump, set to 40PSI.
Runs dry without damage. 4.5 GPM / 20 liters/minute

what do you think i should go for?
the first one will prob cope a little better with the odd bit of hop and grain that gets through the filter

i need to call the supplier back tomorrow morning

Considering the use, I'd rate run dry time as more important than dealing with suspended solids. I assume youur filter takes out the bulk of the solids?

Also, small soft bits of 'solid' dont do much damage to metal impellors and casings, they tend to break up when chopped in half if the gap is too small for them :)

If your system has a fail safe cut off fluid level switch, then take the alternate option ;)
