Hi all, I really need some help here. Did my first 2 brews last night. 1 x cider and 1 x ipa.
The cider is going good, however the beer I just checked and it had ALOT of foam coming from the airlock, the bucket looks very expanded too.

I looked around and found I should make a blowoff tube, so I did that. But I am worried the pressure in the bucket is not going down?

Any tips? Photo of the blowoff tube I made here...

Should I be worried about the lid blowing off and decorating my girlfriends flat? lol

As long as the CO2 is escaping you have nothing to worry about, i have seen a constant stream of bubbles coming through mine and the lid has never lifted.

Keep an eye on the blowoff tube. They sometimes gets blocked with yeasty crud, as I have found out. And then the lid might pop.
The alternative to a blow off tube is to just crack the lid in one place to vent the CO2 but put a tray or better a builders or laundry trug (Wilko) under the FV to contain any mess, cleaning up from time to time . You could also put an old towel over the area where the lid is cracked. Then when the fermentation finally subsides, clean up for one last time and revert to the airlock

Ease up one side of the lid and push gently on the top to get rid of all this excess flatulence. Leave the side of the lid "unclipped" for a few days until the fermentation has subsided. Get a clean brick and wrap it in a tea-towel and put it on top if you're worried about the lid "curling" up and letting the bugs in (they won't, by the way)
Looks to me as if your blow-off tube is blocked, but can't be sure from the photo.
