Unrefined sugar or malt extract

I'm about to make my first beer from a Munton's IPA kit.

Will it make a significant difference to the taste of the beer if I manage to find malt extract powder and add this to the kit instead of using unrefined sugar? I'm guessing that using unrefined sugar would be better than normal refined white sugar from some of what I've read elsewhere on this forum.

Any advice will be gratefully received. :thumb:
 
Malt extract would be better as it will have some degree of unfermentable sugar which will give body and mouth feel. Unrefined will be marginally better than refined.
