Afternoon all,
Just started extract brewing in 2 gallon batches... I'm pretty keen on experimenting and live in a teeny-tiny house.
My first brew is nearly ready for bottling - a nice simple session bitter. I made up the recipe myself against all advice on the t'internet and it tastes bloody great. But I think I *might* have an advantage on most people as my dad actually is a brewer, and I think I may have absorbed a lot of knowledge by osmosis. I tend to find myself 'knowing' things with no idea how or why.
On an entirely irrelevant note, it still amazes me that - including equipment costs - after 3 or 4 brews, the average price per bottle is going to be less than a decent bottled beer in the supermarket. Even when they're on offer. Mental. I think this may be the reason I'm being 'allowed' to embark on this escapade...
Aaanyway, nice to meet you all and proper looking forward to many, many successful brews. Cheers :
