No, it's no good for brewing beer or regular wine and cider making, it's only for making a high alcohol base for use with the mock "spirit" flavouring essences, or the other subject which will get this topic locked.

I thought it wouldn't be too good. I saw it and figured it was for something not normally made. Just been looking at different yeasts and came across it and wondered what it was for. :)

If its gonna cause issues moley then by all means lock the thread. Don't want to cause trouble on a forum I like ;)

Edit:
I didn't mean iffy. Because it obviously has a perfectly normal use. Just something that's not allowed on this forum.

Sorry

No problem, no apology required, you asked a valid question :thumb:

If this saves anyone from ditching a batch of Turbo Cider because they thought it might be logical to make it with Turbo Yeast then the topic can stay open.

I suspect Turbo yeast has been bread to produce alcohol using different metabolic pathways which also produce all the other nasty stuff hence if you use it you have to treat with activated charcoal and filter which also removes most of what flavour there is in it.

I have used turbo yeast before to finish off a beer (turned wine) that refused to ferment. It's pretty hardy stuff. Resists temperatures and alcohol levels. Also, whatever was stopping my other yeast from working had no affect on this. Check out my thread

No need to comment on it now though.
