Hi

Had a bottle of my first wherry today and its still cloudy. Once bottled i left it in a warm place for a week and 11 days in cool place does it need longer to clear. But it tastes good with a little fizz.

Cheers steve

after bottling, it wants ideally 2 weeks warmth and 3 weeks cool. cloudy beers usually mean the yeast is still in suspension and feeding off either the sugars left from the fermentation process ( because you bottled too early before it had finished ) or you have carried sediment over into the bottles when syphoning the brew into them and the yeast is now working on the priming sugars and keeping the debris floating about.
Put the bottles somewhere warmish for another 2 weeks and then move them to a cool spot for another week, before you taste again..

You could add some gelatine to the beer to get it clear quicker. I did this to some bottled only 2 1/2 weeks ago. Well carbed very clear and bright...and tasty

Thanks for the replies. I will leave it another week or so. But i will have to keep checking every day or so.
Cheers steve.

I made a right old mess with my Wherry (first ever brew)

1. i didnt leave a gap in the top of the bottles so no carbonation (i had to empty some out, re-sugar and re-cap - but it did actually work)
2. only left in the warm for one week - they definately need two weeks, especially at this time of year.
3. chucked them in the garage with temps of 1-5 degrees so now have a fair amount of chill haze (which i am hoping will dissapear in time for xmas)

But after all that it still tastes blummin amazing, has a great head and looks good (even with a bit of chill haze)
