I added black treacle to my Coopers Brewmaster Irish Stout but it is still conditioning.

It is due for its first try in about 5 days if you can wait for the results.

Great, let me know how it goes. How much treacle and sugar did you use?

hi, I've been using syrup for a couple of my belgian brews cos its partially inverted (wotever that means)

I too haven;t tasted them yet, but I was told to use 15-20% more of syrup than other sugar types

Made a youngs stout with treacle I added about half a tin of treacle, Still conditioning now but tried a bit and it had a nice liquorice after taste

Well I am very pleased to tell you that I sit here now with a pint of my stout.

If you remember I brewed this using Dark Malt extract 1Kg, No sugar whatsoever and 56g of black treacle!

WOW

What a fantastic beer!!!

This beer is great and all for around £18.58 for 40 pints!

thats an amazing 46p per pint. the head is lacing the glass as i drink up!

:drink:

I will definitely brew this again...fantastic!

Great, can you taste the treacle in it?

I have some malt extract from holland and barrett, thinking when I do my stout I will use a jar of that some sugar and some black treacle

Glad to hear it, I have one of these kits I was going to start months ago but never got around to doing. This could be the weekend for it now I have seen the results

Way to go on the stout

Always good to see success in a picture!!

when you say just finished it, do you mean you drank it all?

:drunk:

HOw long would you say it took before it became drinkable, and how long before it got to its best?

I am going to try and get mine going this weekend...at last, wondering it I will be able to have a few come christmas

A friend of mine took one ofmy 1.5L bottles of treacle stout and added it to his 5L minikeg of Woodfordes Wherry.

He tried to convince me to do it with the one bottle of Wherry he gave me but to be honest the Wherry was too nice to change when I only had one!
