I have a cornie full of brew that is conditioning, I would like to take said brew to a friends house but I will only require about 5l.

Could I transfer (using the tap) some brew that's carbonated from the cornie into a mini keg?
I plan to purge the airspace with co2 before and after I transfer, I know I will lose some carbonation but what do we think?

I think you'll be fine - esp if you are planning on drinking the lot.

I just transfer to a plastic takehome bottle ( a bit like a plastic DJ ) for taking to other houses and that's always fine, it keeps enough life for the night :thumb:

I reckon you could get it to work. What sort of tap do you you use to dispense from your corny? I would find a bit of tubing that will push reasonably snugly into your tap, I know that 3/8" beer line works well for the party tap. This needs to be cut so it will reach right to the bottom of the mini keg. Then get everything nice & cold (corny, tap and mini keg) before filling. This should minimize foaming and allow you to fill the mini keg.....this has worked well for me filling bottles from a corny

I have one of the metal quick disconnect taps, I just managed to slowly pour a pint with no foam at all so I think I should be fine filling the keg.
The mini is likely to be finished in one night anyway so I'm not to concerned but I didn't want to take flat beer and have the piss taken out of me all night lol.
