First of all hello to all on this site and it looks like i have come to the right place  :D .
Right i think i have what i need to start my first brew :- FV,long spoon, sterilizer, siphon tube with filter, and a coopers aussy lager.
Right firts of all have i got what i need? i am getting some newcastle brown ale bottles so will these be strong enough for the pressure and last of all i have read that you should use a 50/50 mix of brewers sugar and a light spray malt to help with taste.
Oh and what is the best thing to use for the priming in the bottle for secondary fermentation?

Many thanks in advance.

Your bottles will be fine, house hold sugar is best for priming as you use so little that it doesn't really impart any flavour so using anything else will just be a waste of money.
I'd try and get some more bottles or a keg so that when your brew has finished fermenting you can get another batch on the go

Thanks for your replies, I have a couple of my locals to keep me the bottles so i should be able to get a fare few of them by the time its due for bottling, Have you got any advice on the 50/50 mix to mix with the can instead of house hold sugar?

Welcome to the forum

Your bottles will be fine, but clear bottles should be stored in the dark or in cardboard boxes. If you are collecting from pubs, try to get hold of some Magner's cider botles, they hold a full pint and the labels soak off easily in hot water. Newky labels do too, but brown bottles are better.

50% light spraymalt might make a good addition but I'm not a lager brewer so I can't really advise. However, I am yet to be convinced that there is any benefit in using brewing sugar as opposed to regular household white granulated.

Here is a pic of my brew if anything looks wrong pls tell me :D .
