Can anyone help please.

I am making cranberry wine (hopefully) from scratch. Having transferred the mixture into a demi john there is about a pint remaining. Can I do anything with this or does it go down the sink.
 
You need to leave some space in the top of the denijohn to avoid the yeast and solution escaping through the air lock, you can fill a sterile 1 litre pop bottle or similar with the 'must' and store it in the fridge or freezer until the initial rapid ferment has slowed down.
