Too much carbonation

i got a corny keg full of beer and set the regulator to 30 psi, shook it for about 5 mins till no more gas went in, i then left this for 24 hours at 7C, i went to pull a pint earlier and got mainly froth, i know i over carbonated it, lol

What do i do to reduce it as i want it for a party on Saturday :)

let some gas out through the safety release valve then gas up to about 3-6 psi depending on the type of beer you have

I did that, i let all the gas out, then put a tiny bit in, about 3-4psi and it still frothed up, lol 3/4pint of froth.

What type of beer is it and what tap are you using has it been lengthened with 3/16 pipe??

its an ale, i only have one of those party taps from Norman.
