The bloke I got this recipe off believes if he could only make one beer this would be it. This must be the 6th time I've done and it's a real winner. For those who remember it's the beer from Rich and Dave's challenge.

81.94% Pale Malt 4.6kg
9.98% Crystal 90 560g
8.08% golden syrup 454g

1.7 g/L Northern Brewer (9.6% Alpha) @ 60 Minutes (Boil) 40g
0.9 g/L East Kent Golding (4.7% Alpha) @ 15 Minutes (Boil) 20g
0.7 g/L East Kent Golding (4.7% Alpha) @ 5 Minutes (Boil) 15g

Single step Infusion at 68°C for 90 Minutes. Boil for 90 Minutes

Fermented at 17°C with Danstar Nottingham

26/05/1981...didn't know the forum had been around that long, for some reason this is showing as the date this was posted when viewing on tapatalk...it wouldn't be your birthday by any chance would it?

Anyway back to beer, how long do you think this will take to condition, and do you plan to bottle or keg?

Osh is 5.2% bottled. ignore the figures from brewmate. That grain bill (the actual weights not the percentages) will make 25l of between 5.2 and 5.6% on my equipment. I didn't realise until I looked at my print off this morning that it had adjusted my original recipe up. In fact I'm going to heavily edit the first post!!!

How have you been getting on with the cubes? Where did you get yours?

I brought a 25l jerry can from betterbuys outdoor shop in wellingborough. You could get two for the same price on eBay I was impatient. Not strictly cube shaped but so far so good. I think it's important to buy food grade hdpe and they do seem to cope with going very very soft!
