Hi,

I was thinking of making the youngs barley wine. Do you think that adding ginger (ive got a bottle of the liquid ginger wine compound stuff) might produce a nice ginger beer? Could split it in two and add it to half only if it might taste odd! But i do quite like a wee ginger beer!

Is that because you don't like ginger or because it just wouldn't go!

Which of the barleywine kits gives the best result - ive seen youngs, muntons and the woodfordes headcracker?

technically that's a ginger ale.

it would work, but there's nowt wrong with a standard beer. brew it up to instructions, you can always add it later on if you really want to.

I have never tried one of the kits but barley wine is a wonderful ale that IMHO doesn't need adulterating. There are plenty of recipes if you want to make ginger beer.

Righto.... Barleywine by itself it is! Went for the headcracker - read lot of good reviews! Sounds like it will have matured nicely for the beginning of autumn! yum!
Cheers guys!
