Hi, my coopers canadian blonde with 1.2kg of liquid light malt extract is 14 days old in the FV. OG 1038, SG 1012. When I pour it gently into the test jar it is still lively. Big head and bubbles all over the hydrometer. Still very cloudy. I spin the hydrometer to clear the bubbles and it has read 1012 for the last 3 days. Airlock still active every 17-18 minutes. Sitting at a steady 21.5 degrees. I I don't bottle today I doubt I'll have time until next Tuesday (6 days). Any advice?

Hi, if you still have airlock activity then I would leave it until next Tuesday, It'll also give it time to clear. Did you dry hop it at all?

Thanks, so it won't hurt it leaving it? I haven't dry hopped it, should I?

It won't hurt it, no, I've left mine for over a month before bottling and it was very clear. It's personal preference whether you dry hop or not, it'll probably be something you do when you get more familiar with the basics. Great that you asked the original question as most would just bottle and hope for the best.

I have another Canadian blonde on order which I was going to add 1kg of muntons beer kit enhancer or 50/50 light spray malt and dextrose. Then perhaps dry hop it with something as I've read on this forum that it is a good base kit but bland on its own. Do I just throw in the hop pellets towards the end of the brewing? If so how much? I've read cascade is nice. Thanks again

Yeah, just throw them in and they will disperse on their own and sink into the trub eventually. I usually add mine 10 days into fermentation, some do it when fermentation has stopped. I used to do Canadian Blonde and Euro lager and preferred the latter but never used to pimp them back then.

If the gravity has remained the same over 3 days it should be ready to bottle, I can't remember what the instructions recommended the FG should be? I found the Canadian Blonde cleared up more in the bottle during the secondary fermentation though and It was clear as when I drank it 3 weeks later.
