Tilt Battery Weight.

Hi, can anyone weight the original battery from a Tilt for me?

I replaced one with a Duracell Lithium and the calibration is a mile out.

I changed one of my tilt batteries earlier in the year, and I have the same issue. I’ve tried sourcing some of the original ones they come with but come up short? I’d be interested if anyone knows where i could buy any.

Interesting point, haven’t had to change mine yet. A quick google search suggests all CR123A batteries are listed with approximate weights, 16-17g. It maybe that no two batteries are the same so perhaps we need to recalibrate after changing, regardless of brand? Streamlight looked expensive, with hefty delivery charge, so worth considering!

Just found this on Tilt site:
“- After you change your battery, the Tilt will flash purple, indicating it's ready for a device level (not in app) tare. Simply place the Tilt in still room temperature water for several minutes. You should see a flash on the Tilt and the app indicating the device has been calibrated by resetting to 1.000. If the weight profile between batteries is in spec, your Tilt will not re-tare as it is within our factory calibration and ready to use.“

I replaced mine with a Duracell and the calculations were way off. Calibrated at several points and it was never accurate.

I replaced it with the Panasonic Cr123a and it was a bit better but still not there.

I then took the shuttle out again and pushed it in just enough to be able to get the cap to catch the thread then tightened it at which point it pushed the shuttle up ever so slightly.

It’s now almost bang on, never more than 0.001 out on the uncalibrated value and that’s the same as a hydrometer reading.

I’ll have a try at this i think? I can’t remember exactly what batteries I bought? But to be fair, one of mine ( the one I changed the battery in ) isn’t miles out either?

Swapped to a Varta and it now only reads 1 point out.
