Hello everyone, from (currently a bit cold and wet) lancaster.

Been making wine for years, but finally decided to throw myself at beer while I'm at it. Variety, as they say... Surprised it's taken me so long to get round to (been a cask ale cellarman for about ten years now, and a bit beer obsessed as a result) and so I'm looking to make up for lost time when it comes to making my own.

In that regard, this place has already been incredibly helpful in filling in gaps and generally troubleshooting; gone from one extract brew (which tasted perfectly acceptable) to "y'know what, sod it, if you're gonna do it...".

Connected the dots equipment wise and did two AG's this week, a dark ruby mild and an English ipa, both bubbling away as we speak :thumb:

But, the fact remains that while I'm pretty adept at keeping beer, and INCREDIBLY adept at drinking it, as far as making it goes I'm an utter novice, and this is likely to turn into a three stooges sketch at any juncture.

Which I'm sure will probably make it all the more fun. :D
