Just wondered what people think about adding wheat to beers in order to gain better head retention. some use torified, some use wheat malt, some use flaked barley or other but what is your preference and why?

I use wheat malt, it gives a nice flavour and seems to aid head retention - I haven`t tried the others but Aleman said torrified wheat tastes like shreddies so i gave it a miss

:drink:

Yeah you do get a cereal taste to Terrified wheat ;) Learnt my lesson brought 2 kg of the stuff, finally got through it all now just to try some others. Will be interested what others feel :)
I normally go for around 200g in 24ltr.

If i`m brewing a best bitter type brew i would typically go for something like,

4kg pale malt, some amber, choc, and around 300grams wheat malt - works great for me :drink:
