anyone know what these are called and where to get them
Tap081.jpg
theyre from the nordic thermopots and i need some as i intend to drill straight through the front rather than go in from underneath for fitting the ball valve, cheers all.

just use a tank connector if going through the side.

but why not go through the bottom   :nono:

The problem i foresee if i cant find this part is if i simply drill a hole through the front and use any sort of connector , when tightening the backnut, the twin walls begin to crush together, i found this out when trying to put a dial thermometer on one before. each turn of the back nut simply resulted in crushing of the steel walls.

I really dont need to go through the bottom as i fly sparge so dead space losses really dont matter. By the way, is it really that easy do go through the bottom, ive never used an angle grinder in my life. If all else fails i will have to go this route.

I've a couple of those fittings, PM me your address and I'll get them in the post.

FWIW I modified my thermoboxes in the same way, but had a forum member (Bru4U) make up a threaded spacer to fit on the 1/2" nipples that allowed the inner skin to seal and stopped the outer skin from crushing in. . . . Piccies Tomorrow as I'm away from the PC for the rest of Today

Aleman's kit is the dogs danglies.

I went to watch a brew session this week, sooo much shiny that it's like walking into the playboy mansion for brewers. Fortunately, iron self control prevented me embarrassing myself.
