Let’s see everyone’s year end stats then!

I’m on Apple Music, and here’s my top 15 artists and albums.

The Alexa in my daughter’s room is linked to my Apple Music account and I blame her for Taylor Swift being number 2

I’m also one of Peat & Diesel’s top 500 listeners:

I'm proud to confess that I've never heard of any of the above, except Swift, who was in the news for something recently.
I'll see if I can find my list.

Same, can't share mine as I'm too tight to buy a Spotify Family account so share one between the whole household.

Between mu daughters love of all things 11 year old girls like, my son's obsession with mountain bike podcasts, and my wife's terrible taste in 80s/90s music my stuff won't get a look in.

Still getting used to Tidal and can't find a most frequently played list yet, but found this:
Woke up one morning with "sunshine after the rain" fixed firmly in my head. I couldn't even remember who sung it! That'll teach me to drink cheap tequila.

TBF I do have pretty obscure music taste. It’s mainly American punk and British independent stuff with a couple of outliers.

You’ll have heard of No Doubt as well - they were massive in around 1996, they were number 1 for about a month with “Don’t Speak”

You’ve never heard of mine and I’ve never heard of yours 😂

Sounds like a good swap

Ha. Thought it was current pop. Don't know American punk, but I used to like British indie. I'm going to give some of them a listen.

Haha, no I’m like the opposite of mainstream pop 😂 Carol Hodge has less than 1,000 monthly Spotify listeners - I saw her support Ginger Wildheart (lead singer of 90s Britrock band The Wildhearts) back in January and became a little obsessed, she’s an outstanding songwriter.

If you like British indie, you’d most likely like Frank Turner. His “Tapedeck Heart” album is an absolute masterpiece. In fact most of his albums are!

How dare you. Nothing beats 80s.

Couldn't agree more.

I saw this yesterday -

1980s
A poll of 2,000 adults found that the 1980s was the best decade for music, with memorable songs from artists like Queen, George Michael, and Madonna. A 2010 survey of over 11,000 European participants also found the 1980s to be the most favoured decade for music.
