It was supposed to be our staff party this afternoon. The plan was to be taken by coach to Sheffield, go bowling then on to the dog track where the company had arranged an all expenses paid executive box for the evening before coach trip back to York.
Because one of the directors doesn't want to go (he's a mardy arse at the best of time) he's used the excuse of the weather and it's been called off! The coach company have told them that the roads are clear so they have to pay the full cost and the dog track is open and running races so have said the same.
So, rather than finishing at 12 noon, we are suck at work all afternoon. To make up for it, the other director has said he'll buy us all a drink at the local pub before Christmas.
