I work for one of the companies mentioned and it needs to be done. Amongst other things, the weather has screwed up most grain harvests making the price rocket. Your bread, cereal, etc will be going up too.....but the papers ignore that.

Think punters should hate the tax man more than the brewers. If you saw our transfer prices (production costs including logistics less tax) you'd **** yourselves.

+1 Kev...I know it's the price of the raw material, and that It's going to hit right across the board, ....wonder how much a 25kg bag of MO will be later on.
 
Think your self lucky , if i am lucky enough to find a hefeweizen or a wit bier ( i only know of 2 places within 10 miles and only 1 is draft) the price is already around £4 -£4.50 while ales could be around £2.50 -£3.50 depending where your drinking . But on the other hand that's what started me brewing , i can't get it in the pub and i don't wish to pay £2.50 ish per bottle from shops for home drinking.

Good idea, problem is you might you get stopped a lot by police sniffing an easy nick.

Brewers in Holland are paying around £35-40 for grain now, they we're pretty shocked we get it so cheaply
 
yeah the euro sucks balls , biggest modern cock up in my eyes , no wonder it's that sort of price ,
