Is it safe to give your beer a quick taste when its done fermenting :cheers:
 
I normally use a "turkey baster" well sterilised with viadene to take a sample from the fermenter and fill a hydrometer tube to measure the final gravity, then the best bit is to have a good taste to see how its progressing :D

I think its the law - bad things happen if you don't. ;)
 
and on that note i think i may go "check" my AG from 10 days ago

just in the intrest of research you understand
 
All of my fermenters have taps on for the purposes of testing and measuring. It avoids having to open the lid and risk any potential infection of oxidisation.
