Easily achieved I know.
I have just received from Cedaronics a single output temp controller. Very nice looking piece of kit... so good in fact I'd like to hang it on the brewery wall....
My question is simple...How ?
The little cross shaped plastic bracket has me baffled how do you surface mount the controller with it ?.
Also do you have to set the unit up, ( what they refer to as Set Point ) or is it a case of just inputting the temp required each time you want to alter it say for mashing temps.

Nope still flumoxed... Been sat playing with the bits for an hour like someone practising for the Krypton Factor

ha haa....WTF......... I've just drilled a couple of holes in the rear and screwed it to the wall !
what can I do with 4 mounting brackets...

Ended up just screwing mine direct to the wall. Never did figure out those mounting brackets.

here's a piccie.

front and back views.
The temp controller itself has a plain solid back with one central indentation.

I guess one screws to the wall with the four outer holes but I couldn't figure how to fix the controller to it or them...

that would explain it , its a load of crap lol , no idea , i use many silly little brackets at work some are great but many have been designed by blind monkeys , this may be 1 of there designs lol.

am glad it wasn't just me then....

the instructions say to mount. drill a hole slightly smaller than the complete unit and use the gasket ????

I presume that's for flush mounting, but there's no gasket provided... any way 4 screws directly into the wall did the job.

I also have one of these enclosures on my shopping list for the new year .... I feel a 'How To' is called for from Tim at Cedaronics, for us numpties
. :?

theres a pic on the Cedaronics web page above.... its the single output unit.

yes thats the temp probe. If you got the plastic coated 3 meter one, you can just dangle it in the brew.
I'm not brewing at the moment, but my unit has been telling me the temp in the garage.
It agreed with me...freeking cold ...

Cool. I taught it might be on some sort of metal rod I could have stuck into the side of my keg. I just know that wire is gonna annoy me floating in the water. That said I'm all excited to see it working but might be a while I'm redesigning my set up.

on my stc1000 in my fermenting fridge mine on the out side with bubble wrap over top of it tape to side of fem bucket :thumb:

I've been meaning to mount mine on the wall. I also got the funny little cross thingies which I couldn't figure out. At the moment it just lies on its back on top of the ferment fridge. I've also gone for the probe taped to the side of the fermenter, covered with insulation and it seems to be working fine. I couldn't bring myself to actually stick it into the wort...

but mine is to be used to control my hlt kettle element, so the probe has to go into the hot water. Unless I manage to sort out some cheap " thermowell " device

ahh i see i use a pid unit for that :thumb:
