Hi guys is it ok to use tap water to do a malt extract brew kit or is it better to use bottle water ?

It all depends on the content of your tap water

Tap water contains all sorts of different elements - that differ immensely from one area to the next

Where I live I am lucky to have soft, slightly acidic water which is perfect for brewing

You should find that your local water company publishes data about the constituency of your water

Read Steve's guide.
My tap water makes great dark beers. Pales are a challenge.
Could never justify all that empty plastic just to make my beer taste better though..

Ok thanks guys im in norfolk and the water is hard as hell the kettle scales in days after descale i have access to ro water at work so could fill up there if needed but if its gonna make no diffrents to a kit beer then there no point
