Anyone built something like this?
351EAA0E-E18C-4B90-9121-316E840401B0.png

keen to do one myself but I’m wanting 6 taps and don’t wanna spend the money that the people who make them want to charge.

the pipe etc is easy enough. Just the correct threaded part into the tap I can’t find

Yeah I’ve made some other bits of furniture from scaffold tube so this would fit the “look” perfectly. But the only one I’ve seen for sale is £500 which is crazy for what it is. Think I’ll just get some threaded tube and see how I get on

Can't zoom in too well on my phone but they've gone with a reducer by the look of it. If anyone knows the thread size of the tap shank then just get a reducer from the bigger size.

Looks like they're using 2" Black fittings there.

Yeah that’s all 2” fittings, which seems small to me, to try to run 6 lines through...

definitely the reducer that’s the issue connector - can’t find that but, the rest is a matter of a couple of quid an item

I think once you start going above 2" as a hobbyist it gets expensive and you start paying a lot more for fittings.

Only issue I can see is trying to thread pipe without a machine. Wouldn't fancy getting the hand dies out on anything over 2"

Oh I intend to order it to size.
I’ve found that an inter tap shank is 5/8” so need a reducer from 2” to 5/8” the rest is really pretty simple I think

might cut six lengths of tube and tape them together, see what the size of that is once they’re tightly bound

So,

angel homebrew do a 5/8” to 1/2” connector for £5

https://www.pipedreamfittings.com/product/decorative-malleable-iron-floor-flange/200mm length pipe for uprights - £4 each

https://www.pipedreamfittings.com/product/black-mild-steel-tube-pipe-self-colour-threaded/
£5 x 6 = £30
£3.22 x 6 = £19.32
£6 x 2 = £12
£4.27 x 6 = £25.62
£10 x 1 = £10
£4 x 2 = £8
£3.1 x 7 = £21.7

total = £126.64

might get that down if I shop around though. Need to add taps, tube etc onto that too. So an expensive project perhaps but will give. A great look in the bar

Looks well worth it👌

yeah certainly one way to do it, my only concern there would be keeping the lines cool. By bundling them I can then wrap them in insualting tape to keep them as cool as possible from the keezer, 3 lines one way and 3 the other, does allow me two bundles I guess.... hmm will certainly play around. See what fits the pipe best.

The MJ kerator has a tube that runs from the internal fan to the top of the tower. You could do something similar from a separate fan inside your keezer through one entrance of the pipework to keep a constant cool airflow along your beerlines.

Here's one I made earlier! It was a right pain working out how to put it together, had to go in reverse as, once the beer pipe is connected to the back of the tap it's difficult to screw the pipe fittings together, especially if you've got the pipe running through insulation.

What connection did you get for the tap shank.
I can’t find what thread that is, so I’ve just ordered. 2” - 1” reducer and going to use bolts either side

I used a 2" to 3/4" reducing bush and, on the front, the tap shank fit through that. Stuck a metal washer on the front to stop it going through too far and just did the back nut up. Then a JG 5?8 female to 3/8 push fit adapter and a 90 degree adapter, I assembled the tap, reducer and elbow together, then pushed the beer pipe into the JG fitting and fed it through the equal T. Then put insulation in that part then fed the two beer pipes through the upright and screwed that on. Then I pushed insulation up this pipe and finally screwed the upright into the flange (which is screwed onto my bar top with a 35mm hole cut through it). Had to use a lot of force to get both elbows facing the same way and tight.

This was the list of parts I used, got it from JTM Plumbing who were very helpful, last two items were insulation, might be better off with normal pipe insulation from B&Q!

Yeah I got the wrong reducers...just ordered (before reading your post) 2x1” but I’m intending to do the same method as you so I think it’ll still work, just a larger gap. Have to see.

I was spacing mine with 150 but the thread isn’t as deep as expected so swapping to 100mm as it was huge!
other than that I just gotta hope the company takes the spare-bits back otherwise it’s a really expensive tap!

what tap shank did you use? The 100mm one I have is looking like-it’ll be far too long

If your doing multi-tap then you might just want a collar between each elbow or even just a m, f, f elbow so they connect directly together. You don’t need a huge space between taps other than what you want for aesthetics.

Two of these triple towers next to each other.
With enough room for some python line to each to keep the beer lines cold.
Small glycol tank and pump in your keg cooler of choice.
That would be my approach.
