Hello all,

I've gone and bought a Buffalo boiler. Now, looking at the way people usually fit taps is drilling 15mm holes through tank connectors and putting the pipe right through. Sadly my available toolbox is not up to that.

Will this work instead?

Tell me why this won't work before I buy the bits.

Elbow
15mm ball valve
15mm x 1/2" tank coupler
15mm x 1/2" tap connector

Hehehe. Sorry, I can't take any responsibility for the contents of your mind! :D

Oh you don't need solder with those elbows as they have some already to melt, just use flux

I don't have the boiler in question, BUT my tap is connected to the tank connector the OTHER WAY ROUND, i.e. the tap connects to the screw side using a short piece of 15mm pipe and a male fitting

tap -]--pipe--[- =tank connector

where the []'s are the nuts with olives. Then the inside one is just pushed in, it makes a reasonable connection without soldering.
