hi peeps ... :thumb: .

i have a hand bottle capper...
but it kills caps at a rate of 1 in 8 caps...

so im thinking a table top capper might be the way to go ...

but im afraid its the old story not much funds ..

yet want a good capper ...

so mabe a second hand one ....
at a good price .. :thumb: .

regards mick... :hat: .

Well worth getting one, I've used mine for 2 brews now and it's brilliant, no destroyed caps and all on nice and snug.

If you can't find a 2nd hand one you can generally pick them up for around £35 including delivery online

Agree with mick here, have gone through 3 of em, the metal seems to wear where it grabs the bottle, and after a while, it takes the neck of the bottle, last one, got thrown at patio, now use destop one, simplicity!

Will keep my eye open for one mate.

Mine has hard nylon grips for the gripping the bottle not metal.

The only times i've had a slight problem is with capping Wychwood bottles as they have a bulbouse ridge around the neck, this makes the capper drive the cap down further leaving a circular dent in the lid but i still gat a good seal!

Im not disputing that a bench capper is far better just saying the emilly cappers are also fine so long as your not doing hundreds of bottles in one sitting.

its funny that most of them cap ok...

its just now and again ...

I have one, bought last month. Best thing since sliced bread. Easy to adjust for different bottles, and faster to cap large batches. Long term wear I don't know... Early days for me.

or something similar...

Hi mick,

That looks pretty much he same as the one I've got. It's got holes in the base ready for mounting.

I just use it loose on the worktop at the moment and its fine like that, will maybe mount it when I sort a proper brewery rather than a cupboard!

They're pretty sturdy, as long as you've got hold of the bottle as you do it it will stay up. I've capped around 100 bottles the last couple of weeks with it and not felt like it was going to tip at any point.

I haven't mounted mine, as said they're stable enough - all the force goes straight down. and I don't have anywhere to leave it permanently set up

I grew up in Keynsham...

ill use it as it is ...

for now any way ...

so you grew up in Keynsham has it changed much...

A good purchase, you wont regret it. It is worth rubbing a little vaseline around the inside of the bell capper to stop caps getting stuck.
