I've made a variety of ales but none to her taste, however most have been towards the IPA style. She does like various beers from bitters, lagers, blonde summer ales, wheat beers and belgian fruit beers. I suspect thinner paler beers with a bit of sweetness and citrussy hops may go down well.

I'm looking for a receipe she will like that others will drink too, most of my friends are bitter drinkers too but will try other stuff if its free  ;)

I'll probably be brewing at least 60L, I don't have many brewdays so need to make the most of them before the winter sets in as its a bit drafty up in t'Pennines in winter when your cleaning out the pots so will reduce brewdays further.

I told her to look at the recipe page and she chose Effin Lancashire Blonde, the hopping seems high, put it into Beersmith and it is very high, not sure how that one will go down, I will like it, not sure about SWMBO :hmm:

I've discounted pilseners until the winter and the cellar temp goes down a bit, currently about 15, goes down to around 12 or maybe a tad less in winter.

Anybody have a favourite SWMBO recipe?

I have found most women like my golden pales. Around , there's a recipe in the hot break recipe section.

All 3 of my Stunner variations have mostly been supped by females!

I would steer away from highly hopped pale beers that may seem out of balance to most Swmbo's.

A stunner sounds like a brew to try - no guarantees with a SWMBO though ;)

I've seen this recipe by Darcy and this one by 46.philh

Both need lager malt, however I fannied around too long with my order to the malt miller and missed the last 25kg sack of Crisp lager malt but they add most of the other stuff I wanted for other planned brews including a sack of Crisp MO so I bought a 25kg sack of Weyermann premier Pilsner malt so I guess that will have to do.

The only other thing they didn't have was Safale S05 so I bought 2 white labs yeasts, the San Francisco Lager Yeast WLP810 and Californian Ale Yeast WLP001, it won't waste as its best before is in December. The temp in the cellar now is 15c so WLP810 which is best at 14 to 18c sounds like the yeast for the job, save some cash on the tube heater in the FV cupboard.

Any comments on the recipe of a SWMBO stunner? :D

Stick with the Effin Lancashire Blonde, While she is a bit brassy she is not at all bitter ;)
